Yes, it is true that, understanding the principles that a conjuror utilizes to create illusion is effective and beneficial. These skills, as we will show, help to enhance and develop one's critical thinking skills, however, that, in and of itself, is not enough. One should also be well versed, and have a good understanding of, the scientific method and logical thinking. Tied to logical thinking is the understanding of a number of logical fallacies that people may inadvertently utilize when arguing in support for their claims. By having a good understanding of these fallacies, of logical thinking in general and of the scientific method, you will be well-armed as a skeptic to take on any supernatural, paranormal and pseudoscientific claim.
